NEW JEWELS LAUNCHING MARCH 10TH!

FAQ

MATERIALS AND PRODUCTION

Where are you based and where are your pieces made?

Barefoot and Blonde is a true 'global' business. After launching in Lake Louise, Canada many years ago, we moved our business to Brisbane and Sydney, ultimately landing (and now operating from) our little piece of paradise in Tasmania, Australia. Our pieces are designed in house and we use a variety of jewellery making techniques such as wax molds and CAD models. Though we work with stone suppliers and casting houses all over the world for our ready to wear collections, our bespoke wedding, engagement and ceremonial pieces are made from start to finish right here in Australia.

How long does your jewellery take to make?

We believe in slow fashion and carefully crafted pieces. All of our ready to wear collection is made in small batches and therefore sells out quickly. Pieces we carry year-round or those in our everyday collections are usually restocked within 2-3 weeks.

Bespoke pieces such as wedding, engagement, ceremonial and other solid gold items take 4-6 weeks** to produce from concept to finishing. Sometimes, a particular piece may take longer due to stone availability or complexity in design.

If you are admiring a one-of-a-kind piece that has recently sold, please email our team at hello@barefootandblonde.com and we may be able to assist with a similar style.

Are your diamonds certified? Are your gemstones ethical sourced?

Our founder works closely with small family businesses and certified suppliers to ensure transparency and sustainability remain at the forefront of our business.

All diamonds supplied by Barefoot and Blonde will include a formal grading certification (typically GIA) for diamonds over 0.6ct.

Can you use a gemstone or diamond I provide?

At this time, we do not offer a service in which you can provide your own gemstones and/or diamonds.

What packaging do you use?

Our signature Barefoot and Blonde packaging is FSC certified and crafted with botanical inks and recycled paper.

In some cases, when one or more pieces are ordered, we will package multiple items in one box (unless requested otherwise at checkout) in an effort to create less waste.

As part of our commitment to becoming a fully sustainable business by 2021, all Domestic Barefoot and Blonde jewellery will be shipped by our logistics partner, Sendle. Sendle is Australia's first carbon neutral shipping service and is a certified B corporation - we feel good about that!

Can you use metal I provide?

At this time, we are unable to repurpose, reuse or recycle your existing metal (both sterling silver and gold) as our metal is refined by our trusted Australian gold suppliers.
